Mutations write the story, helping life to change and grow,
too many copying mistakes can make the message go.
RNA viruses dance close to the edge to stay ahead,
One extra burst of errors and their lineage is dead.
DNA keeps careful records with proofreading on patrol,
Staying below the error threshold lets life's wisdom stay whole.
